Okay, so Craigslist may get my vote for one of the top 10 plainest looking websites on the internet, but don’t be fooled. Craigslist also ranks in the top 10 most visited sites on the internet and there are over 50 million new classifieds ads posted every month. Those are some serious numbers! It’s easy to see why so many people are striking gold on this site. But with all the listings continuously rolling in, how can you possibly find the specific items you’re looking for and keep tabs on the ads that you’re interested in? Watch the video below to find out.
So as you can see, you can really set up your Craigslist search to get highly targeted results. And “Yes”, this works for more than just motorcycles. Maybe you would like to purchase an antique Brunswick pool table. Maybe you are not looking to buy something at all. Maybe you are looking for an apartment in a specific area of town or a job for a specific company. Whatever you may be looking for, just do some tests with different search queries. The idea is to filter out as many unwanted results as possible but be careful not to refine your search so much that you are also filtering out ads that you may want to see.
Once you get the hang of creating custom search queries, why not set up an automatic alert to notify you as soon as new results for your Craigslist search are available. This is covered in the next video.
