These days it seems like so many people are attempting to cash in on the internet marketing craze. There are so many different products out there that promise to make you the next big internet marketing superstar.
“Earn $400,000 working less than 1/2 hour per day at home!!! Our secret money tree will make you rich. All you have to do is plant the tree and rake up all the money. Our secret tree normally sells for $1500 but for a limited time you can purchase it for the one time low price of only $29. Hurry! This price goes up tomorrow!” Blah, blah, blah.
Have you ever seen ads like this? Of course you have. They are plastered all over the internet, promising to make you rich by barely lifting a finger. Okay, maybe the money tree thing is a little far-fetched but hopefully you get my point.
Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of really good informational products, tools and resources out there created by people who really know what they’re talking about. Most of these “gurus” have been in the internet marketing field long enough that they know what works and what doesn’t. Their products can be used as a very good resource for you to make your own money. Just remember, the products themselves do not make money.
Let’s face it, if you want to make money like the top internet marketers, you must put in th
e time and effort not to mention the knowledge and skills to make it work. A single product you purchase no-matter how great the sales letter and testimonials are is not going to make you rich by purchasing the product alone. If you want to make money online, think of it as a business because that is what it is. Ask any business owner and they will tell you running a business takes a lot of time and effort. Internet marketing is no different.
Maybe you have seen these sales lines:
“Buy our business in a box that runs on autopilot”, “Our product makes you money while you sleep”.
Is it possible to run an internet business that collects and processes sales automatically while you are away? Absolutely, just don’t assume it won’t come with work. Many of these internet marketers spend the majority of their day promoting their site or products by way of building traffic through backlinks, social marketing or SEO. Many times an internet marketer will spend more than 60 hours per week just on marketing alone.
I do not want to steer you away from wanting to be an internet marketer. That is not my intention. I am only saying that you may be doing yourself a huge favor if you do plenty of research before diving into something like this.
Sometimes these “gurus” make it look so easy but a common statistic that you may have seen before is 97% of new internet marketers will fail and give up. I believe a lot of this has to do with the fact that many of these 97%’ers jump into internet marketing uninformed, not realizing just how much work it actually is. Just remember, if you really want to “work from home” you will actually need to work.
